| I'm Pretty sure Studio One will be a great app when released, but I must say that I'm pretty perplexed that hardware insert is not implemented. I believe it was mentioned somewhere that the app has been in development for three years and hardware insert function has become common place in most DAWs in last two years or so. I guess what I'm saying is for me because of the way I work, without hardware insert Studio One is not an option.

| The videos look great. Looks like they combined features from logic, protools, samplitude, & cubase into a streamlined interface. There will of course be bugs on initial release but I'll check it out. I may have missed it. Does it take full advantage of multicore/multiprocessor systems? How is the internal bus routing? |

| Looks cool. My current project has far more midi in it than I'm used too. And I'm looking for a replacement DAW. Studio One might just be it. Any chance for a beta signup? |

| i have waves plugs, BFD2, Superior drummer 2 etc etc all set up as AU units. how do i get these to work with studio one without having to reload them etc? i am new to mac, so does studio one just recognize the AU and load them?? also for a program like Superior Drummer, and say RMX i break them out to individual tracks etc can studio one do this pretty easily? probably basic but that's huge for me. as well as setting up custom templates if you are testing is there a dongle? thanks |

| As of now, StudioOne will not have a dongle. Also, we are working on hardware inserts with delay compensation built in. If that feature does not make it into the v 1.0 release, it will be added soon after. Kind Regards, |

| That's really good to hear because I'm ready to try sometime new and hardware inserts is a minimum requirement if I'm going to make a switch. Also, I like the idea of no electronic ball and chain. |

| Will it take both VST and AU for Mac? or just VST for PC and AU only for Mac? Because if it can take VST and AU both for Mac then there would be no need for VST to AU adapters unlike in Logic which would be great. |

| Sure - and if they spent three years on it and got this far already, that's actually not much more than some companies use between major updates. But - and there's a big but here... In this video, the Presonus guy speaks about StudioOne being created by ex-Cubase/Nuendo coders, and mentions that StudioOne has a very high end audio engine, but that the developers wanted to make a DAW that reached the "other" 80% of the people out there that aren't really using Nuendo and "don't need the high end features". This could explain why there seem to be no Beat Detectiving, Elastic Audio, Score, movie support (let alone support for people with film composing needs), Score editor, automatic delay compensation for external gear etc. in there. The guy shows a some really nice things, though... like being able to make the right (library) list area wider when needed, integrated Waveburner features - and "Bounce on the fly" if you drag in an external song into the arrangement. Apple would never have previewed new features like that months ahead of a release - not for Logic. But who knows, maybe they watch the video and use some of these ideas in Logic? I like that Presonus want to focus on innovation and things that nobody has done before - and I'm sure it will become a great DAW; but maybe it just isn't heading towards the 20% that may want what they call "high end features" - which easily could be the typical members of this forum? |

Anyhoo, I really like what I am hearing about the Studio One. Great move on getting rid of the Dongle BTW, I hate those damn things. Question for Intergroove: Is there any pitch shifting/correction? | |
