What are you looking to do? I have a helix 24mkII and it works fine for what it is, we use it to record live shows for later reference, it does that with no hassles. I am trying to get it to work with linux, which has had some success and also some trouble, but it will get there. As far as sound quality, it is okay, doesn't add noise, pres are reasonably clean, not tremendously fat sounding but for what it is it works well. Last week a very experienced engineer used it for sound on a video I was shooting and he had no issues with the sound quality (at least on first impression), and in his studio later the tracks sounded good to me.
