Macbook Pro and UAD2 Solo laptop 34 card

I have an early '08 2.4 ghz Penryn Macbook Pro with 4 gigs of ram.

It has an internal 320 gig 7200 rpm hard drive. I'm running a 320 gig 7200

rpm external hard drive recording off of the pci express 34 slot.

I'm using a Digi 003 rack as my interface to the firewire 400 slot with Pro

Tools 8. My Fire wire 800 buss slot is still available.

My question is:

What am I going to do when UA comes out with the UAD2 Solo Laptop

Express Card for the Macbook Pro and my external hard drive is already

using the pci express 34 slot? Is there some kind of multi express 34 plug-

in I can plug both the external HD and UAD2 card into and both will still

work?

Will I have to connect my external HD to the firewire 800 , dumping my faster pci

express 34 connection? Didn't really want to put my external HD on the

same buss as my 003 interface.

Thanks for any help I'm new to Mac and as you can tell I'm not really up

on this stuff as I just got most of it (computer wise).

i've been running my lacie 1t big disk extreme off my fw800 for about 2 years, no complaints and picked up a apogee ensemble that runs on the same 'bus' or whatevs. they play together very nice. i've been saving my express card slot for this product but i'm curious because they could always upgrade it to a uad 2 duo/laptop card dunno why they limit it to uad solo..?

I have a MacBook Pro also with a firewire HD and PT 003 interface. I run the HD directly into the 400 port, but the 003 I have a cable that's 400 on one side and 800 on the other so the 003 goes 800 into my lappy. That leaves my expansion port open for the UAD stuff. It works perfectly for me, hope this helps cause otherwise you won't be able to use the UAD stuff if you're using your expansion port for more FW ports.
