I have Logic 6, do I need to get the PT V6 update?

Hi when the logic update that allows HD hardware to be used with Logic is released, do I have to purchase Protools 6 also?

I have help off as I dont need 6, and only ever use Logic.

I bought 5.3 new, is there anyway I can run the TDM hardware under OSX with Logic.
£180 for the V6 update is a bit much considering I will never use PT software.

TIA,

JR

if U buy a protools HD system U will also get protools tdm. the eMagic tdm thingy just enables U to use logic as a front end for protools. desirable for those that want to record in protools tdm but want the midi sequencing power of logic.

It's all speculation until Emagic release details of the implementation. They're saying it's later this month, so not too long to wait (hopefully).

You will have to buy the PT6 upgrade if you want to run Logic 6 and TDM under OSX. Logic still uses DAE for TDM functionality in X, and you need the OSX version of DAE to make it all work. And you'll still have to update all your TDM plugins to OSX compatible versions.
