Too much data for CD-R?

Ripped 5 tracks from a CD-R total time of 75 minutes.
Mastered them and bounced to disk as one big file.
Total time is the same, but the resulting 725 MB of data won't fit back onto a CD-R!
Can anyone explain why or help???

Different CD-R have different sizes. Here is a link to a site that sells 800MB 90 minute CDRs.

If your ripped size is larger check your ripping options or settings, or the CD you ripped from is not a standard size.

Thanks, culture...
CD was standard length, resulting in 75 minutes worth of audio ripped using Protools Audio to Track... trying to put it back to an "80 minute" CD-R

Also,

note that Data of audio takes more space than the CDA due to different error correction.

Check the settings on your CD burning program, you might have it set for 74 minute CDs.
