Robotic Voice Simulator

I am looking for OSX program that simulates the voice similar to the voice that is used in Radioheads OK computer.

Bassically I want it ot speak whatever I tell it to.

Hope that make sense.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Cheers.

I would check out the speach synth in os X. Just ctrl shift on any marked text in a text document and choose the speech synthesizer in the menu. You can change the voice in preferences (voiceover utility), there are like 20 different ones.

The robot voice on "Fitter, Happier" (I think that's what it's called) sounds to me like SimpleText from the OS 8, OS 9 days.

It's basically the same as OS X, but the voices sounded... more primitive.
In OSX, open TextEdit, type, Right-Click and speak.
In OS9, open SimpleText, type, Right-Click or find Speech options in one of the menus

if you have an old mac lying around, or if you have a PPC mac with an OS9 partition, you should check it out. I'm almost positive it's the exact voice on that album.

if anyone wants to prove me wrong, that'd be cool too. I have no hard evidence that SimpleText is on OK Computer.

The voice in that song is "Fred" in OS X speech.

Well, ok then.

According to my sleuthing on Wikipedia, Mac OS 8 was released on July 26, 1997. OK Computer was also released that same year, but in June.

(Excuse: doing some slow bouncing in Logic and killing time while I wait... )
