Thumbs down Core Audio Error (or disk too slow)???!!!

Hi. I have been using MOTU 424 drivers with a G4 Dual 867 under OS X, with a gig of RAM- 120 gig Maxtor hard drives, 1296 and Logic- and I have at times been mixing to Logic at 24/44- two stereo tracks with NO plugins. I have generally had quite a fine experience- works great, sounds great- etc....

I have had several very annoying crashes with error messages saying something like "Core Audio Error- disk may be too slow"- this with two tracks and no plugs. This does not seem like good kung fu.

Any theories or fixes? Thanks!
