Question how to use .cda files in cubase?

hi guys,

I jsut bought a sample CD, all the files on it have the .cda extension. Normally I can drag any .wav file into Cubase but I'm not able to do it with those .cda files. I don't seem to be able to open them with Kontakt 2 neither...

How do I get to use those files in Cubase? Do I need to first somehow convert it to wave files? If so, how to do that exactly?

I would appreciate any input from more experienced users,

thanks in advance

It is an audio cd. You need to rip the cd to wave files.

File/import/Audio CD. Choose tracks You want to import, 'grab', 'ok' and You're done .
