I don't know whats not to like with this program

They are giving people who don't have a big chunk of cash lying around a way to make some big upgrades today.

Unlike WUP which is a forced cash grab this is pretty smart idea on their part

What's not to like? The final price of the upgrade. Full Waves retail price...

Buy the upgrade outright from a dealer and it will be up to 40% cheaper...

I might have missed this.....

With the purchase of the WAVES product you get free upgrades for a year. The payment plan moves your purchase out to 2 years. What if an upgrade comes after your 1 year?

This seems like a really good idea to me for those that wish to use this product. Maybe it is a trend we will see other "EXPENSIVE" product manufactures follow. Troubled times lead to creative selling strategies.

Well done Waves for a brilliant credit crunch bustign idea i have i the past emailed them, Bombfactory, McDSP to do something similar. URS already have a scheme but biy their costs are waay to too high this seems jsut about right and cmon lets face it if you have the bucks you can shop around for discounts that applies to everything doesnt it. Maan people can be super cynical I mean its a brilliant idea it means a lot of people can start to buy it affordably and not have to use other means to run waves.
I say well done Waves shame you cant buy the creme de la creme mercury monthly.
Well done Waves.

I got the email this morning and it bugs me. I thought to myself just go over to GC make a friend behind the counter and get a credit card from them. You get a discount and you can pay it off (I think they are doing 6 months same as cash right now). So even if it took you a year to pay off I have a feeling the discount you would get versus the interest on a card may still be cheaper. Before you flame realize that I always try to pay off a card before the interest starts and I do not get a card without it. While this is a good way to get some extra waves plug ins that some people could not afford and would otherwise steal to get, my real question is...

What if you don't pay, what will waves do to collect?

I called Waves sales dept. about this. There's a 7.5% Tax if you live in Tennessee. I own Gold + JJP + GTR3 (Native) and it comes to $281/month + tax.

If they charged the same price as retailers, I think it would come in closer to $160 a month.

Ha - missed that part. It is true you can get the stuff way cheaper from a dealer. I think it is even cheaper to put it on a credit card from a dealer at discount and pay those interest fees and monthly payments

Its a great idea in principal, but they should have tweaked it a little to compensate for the pricing realities in market place

It's like a mini-mortgage payment. Please note: if you try to refinance the bundle within 6 months, there is a penalty which will be rolled over into your new loan.

Except with the Waves program after 25 years instead of owning a house, you own absolutely nothing.

So it is like renting a house. Or living in a hotel. Or a timeshare.

yeah much better to use a 0% introduction fee on a credit card and buy cheap from a dealer...

or better yet not buy waves

hopefully waves will take on lots of sub-prime debt

at full retail price this is financial suicide. 1000 bucks is 600 anywhere else at the right time of year, and less even if you work the price down a little. I like the plugs, but they can keep their payments.

How are they going to sell their guitar bundles if they don't embrace the sub-prime market?
