Thread Starter | Logic and Mbox2 Pro?
Can anyone confirm they are using Logic 8.0.2 with Mbox2 Pro FW MIDI I/O ok? I'm having troubles with MIDI not coming in nor out of Logic through Mbox MIDI I/O. The weirdest thing is that I can remember it worked once ( I'm using MH 2882 and bought Mbox to use as aggregate device and so I don't have to carry 2882 when I'm going on location and don't need all the bells and whistles). But few weeks ago when I was about to track my SE1 and wanted to record a MIDI performance...oops, MIDI I/O is dead. Can't think of anything what might be wrong and refuse to believe it is hardware malfunction. Mbox is like 4 weeks old (well since it arrived through the post to me). Tried to find any info on Digis web-site. Damn. They have like a technical support contacts but it says " States-Canada" on top and the phone number is US one. But nowhere is written anything like "Outside US-Canada". So I assume Digi is not worried too much if the rest of the world would have some problems with their hard/software. I filled their tech. support request form....hahaha...to send it you have to specify what software you are using with their hardware. And there is like "Third-party software" option available. By checking it, you are offered to choose from a list of few third-party sofware. Reason, Ableton Live and other are among the list...but damn...no Logic. No seriously...are they this arogent and ego-driven that they assume nobody is using Logic and nobody wants to use their products in conjunction with something else but Digi? Basically this is the reason I'm asking. Maybe it's just me and for long-time Digi vs The World fans it's like a mantra "No Digi with Logic"? Is it possible to use Mbox2 Pro FW with Logic. I mean I can get the audio in and out. It's just the MIDI...don't know what's wrong with it. Sorry for all this frustration...but that's what I feel like by the end of the "supposed to be fun, tracking synths and mixing" day turned into "damn, why is this and that ain't working together" type of day. Spent the whole lot troubleshooting and getting the MIDI to work. It's late, I'm pissed and MIDI still not working. Any ideas? |

Mine is working fine here. Lets state the obvious. 1. Have you tried another program (garageband maybe) 2. Tried new midi cable 3. Double checked u have Midi in/midi out connected correctly 4. Tried another midi device I know how frustrating new stuff not working can be. ARRGGG! Maybe try reinstalling Drivers for Mbox pro? |
