Thread Starter | iMac Pro Tools 8 ProFire 2626 - External Drive Setup I have the new iMac running firewire to the ProFire 2626 with Pro Tools 8. I worked on some holiday videos which ate up 100 gigs. So I just bought a 1 TB internal drive with an macally enclosure. I've spent some time researching the best way to format, and hook up the drive. I wanted to ask anyone out there with imacs, firewire recording devices on advice before I set this up. How should I format the drive and wire it up with both the profire and the external drive being firewire - am I going to run into issues? Anything special I should to do format and configure the drive with mac and protools? Thanks. |

Thread Starter | My installation has been cut short thanks to the special 9-pin firewire connection on the iMac. I have a pile of firewire cables here and none of them work. I'm still wondering what is optimal - the Profire 2626 to the FW400 and the external drive to the FW800 or the other way around... or maybe it doesn't make a difference because the 6-pin is makes it a 400 device??? |
