| Lives for gear | Waves JJP Pultec and UAD Pultec
How different are these two Pultec EQ's sound compared to each other? Please dont' just say this this is better and leave it at that. Both I assume model the specific Pultec EQ that they had in their hands. My question is how different do they sound. Is one warmer, one cleaner, one more open?

The JJP is cleaner, and more hi-fi sounding. When you insert it on a track it's pretty transparent. The UAD immediately sounds more ballsy. It's a bit louder, but there's also something else going on, more than a simple volume boost. They both are nice EQ's but the UAD sounds more hardware-ish. The JJP sounded more like it could be emulated with a another EQ.
