I may on occasion talk about some of the products I am a dealer for in my posts.. and that's OK! I sell them because I like them. Not vice versa. It's more fun to talk about things you know and love, then things you don't.

dual boot system? That's what I have.

What does Tiger add to your audio experience? PT LE would still be the same.

I have an older G4 (dual533) and Tiger feels a little less snappy than 10.3. Where at other upgrades my computer always seemed a little faster where other reported their systems didn't operate as smooth anymore. So I guess this is the end of OS X's for this machine. Well, it does what it does, and it's still satisfies me this computer has served me 3 years. (and it ain't over yet!)

It probably doesn't add anything, but the new G5's only ship with Tiger installed....

Owwww...you're right about this.

Have you tried running PTLE on Tiger just for the heck of it?

Or downgrading the OS just for the heck of it?

Neither will probably work, but if there's nothing to lose, might be worth a shot...

Have you upgraded to 6.9, BTW? I don't know, but in cases where I've used PTLE with a later OS than Digi has approved, a later PTLE version has helped (that's obvious, I know.)

I'm bummed for ya just thinking about it.

There's no Core Audio driver so no sound in or out. It won't let you connect to the 002... Not even with iTunes, etc...

They made it clear PT LE would be ready 6 to 8 weeks after the relese of Tiger.
It was up on their forum quite a while ago, should be soon though.
Might be a good time to have fun with Reason and Live until it's ready.

But, how can I hear it though... I have no problem using a different program, but I don't want to buy another interface to hold me over for the next couple weeks or so..

This is what I was thinking might work...

If you use 10.3.8 + the Core Audio that comes with the 002, the 'unsupported' part is the G5...which drew seems to indicate ought to work.

I'd give it a go...or am I still missing something?

Just use your Mac's sound outputs, not the Core Audio driver.
