Abbey road plugins - TG Mastering pack

Just wanted to ask... why aren't more people freaking out about them??

I FINALLY got around to downloading and trying out the demo...
Holy Bejesus!!!! They're amazing...
Easily, the favorite EQ plugin that I've ever tried...

They actually change the sound without even turning the knobs.. and they compress a little bit. Honestly, they sound like actual, analog eq's to me.

I MUST BUY THEM NOW!!!!!

I love these plugins.... easily among the best available. I've had mine for a couple years now, so I just got tired of raving : )

my favorite software EQs by a mile. What they do for vocals is amazing. They got a lot of praise in the other thread- I'm a fan

seriously guys, these eq's freak me out.

There's a dimension to them. They breath a little bit.

And really... there haven't been a whole lot of reviews... other than the 'professional magazine reviewers" that I've read about them??

In case anyone reading this is considering the demo to purchase.... DO IT NOW!!
My new fav software eq also...

I agree... magical on vocals.. also. VERY cool on acoustic guitar.
Probably cool on just about everything to be honest..
but I've only tried them on mix buss vocals, ac guitar so far..

thumbsup + 2db here too - love the sound - sometimes just the presence EQ & filters is all that's needed sometimes the full blown 4 band... musical frequency points (key of C i seem to recall) - they just work/sound great.

Great for just about everything, my personal preference is for distorted electric guitars and snare though. Sometimes vocals.

Bought the limiter not long ago with the special Gearslutz discount. I absolutely love it on anything from vocs to mix buss. Decided to demo the mastering pack and the brilliance pack. These are seriously good eq plugs! Bought them just before the end of the trial period, don't wanna mix without them ever again!

Just bought the Mastering Pack - I had a hard time choosing it over the Brilliance Pack wich also seems great. Is the presence filter different in the Mastering Pack?

I will use the Mastering pack for mostly acoustic stuff - guitars, vocals and strings. Anyone have any tips or tricks?

Yeah I have all the Abbey Road plugins because IMO they're among the only analogue-emulation plugins which truly emulate ALL the behaviour of the plugins, not just the basic way in which they work. (I think Softube are the only others I think do this too).

I don't actually use the EQ that much because I am and have always been a Pultec person, but the mastering pack's TG414 thing - the HPF, LPF and adjustable presence boost, I use that on EVERY mix. It's great for just refining the tone of an instrument without having to get too serious with an EQ.

I love these plugins so so bad! The TG12412 and the TG12414 gets used on every mix!

One issue though, why is the website prices in $s?

It's somehow weird.. everyone seems obsessed with the newest plugins emulating saturation and harmonic distortion and "warmth" and everything that can bind plugins to hw and yet one of the most praised plugin eq is the EMI (I've never found too much use for the limiters, very particular knee, I would love to use them more but I always end up closing them..)

I do love the TG eq like most people, guitars, vocals, groups.. Now the funny thing is: they do NOT have any kind of harmonic distortion going on, nor saturation nor anything like that.. It's pretty much just a digital eq, the "secret" is just in the eq curve/bell.. that's it. The possibility of having different bells and turn all the bands into shelf it's also what makes them so musical (along with the frequency choice which is around the C note, considered more musical) but again, the "depth", warmth or whatever is not there.. it's just the curve of the eq.

I think that says something

I haven't used too many high end plugs besides some of the waves and PSP stuff, so I don't have a solid ground for comparison but I use pretty much exclusively the Abbey Road plugs on everything I do, with some Massey stuff as well.

I have the whole bundle, but I wish there was a way I could sell the brilliance pack but keep the EQ's and Limiters. Is that possible?

Really? I just love the frequency ranges. They are just perfect! They are in the right places with the perfect shapes.

Definitely, the freq choice is indeed very very musical

True, I'd be curious to see the phase response, so to understand..

Because the TG12412 is by far one of my fav itb eq and it really made me reconsider all the "saturation/xformer/tube/bs/modeling" thing in plugins, it may be not all that good ALL the time, seeing this one doesn't have it and yet it gets used more than any other eq I have I think..

But "good" phase smearing is something I - for some reason - didn't think about, I pretty much never do when speaking of plugin

I love this EQ. Yup, no analogue emu or ANYTHING like that, and that's the beauty of it. Simple workflow, clear interface, fantastic corner frequencies, insanely useful curves and it doesn't start clouding up the sound like many real x-former balanced analogue EQ's can do.

I just got it yesterday with the 50% discount...

I am truly amazed. I think this is the first time I felt good with a track mastered by myself.

Just put on the curve bender, turned a few knobs, and there it was: a much better sounding track. It´s quite funny how it works: it´s subtle, you almost can´t hear a difference, you just go by feel... I was like, "yeah, feels better there, now a little bit of mid..."... After two minutes, I couldn´t quite tell the difference, but I took it off to compare and the original sounded like mud. Put it on again and the sound I was looking for is there: clearer highs, more room for mids, controlled lows...I just have to put on a limiter and raise a little the volume and the track works.

With other mastering programs, the EQ is so blunt; you hear the minimal turn of the knob, but you can´t tell if it sounds better or worse at all, and the final result you get is obviously different from what you started with, but not satisfying, you don´t get to a point where you can say it sounds better...With the TG is like using magic.

I feel like I won´t need another mastering EG again; this is it. Unless I end up using the Chandler or Abbey Road harware, that is. I don´t know if there is much difference with the hardware.

For 165$, a no brainer...Amazing.

The eq and limiter give me that "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" vibe and that gets me stoked to make music.
I love how forgiving the Mastering EQs are. You could overuse the eq and still have an interesting musical sound. I cannot say that about many ITB eqs. A little too much does not sound dodgy and queer

Been demoing the comps, amazing on the right tasks, great on bass lines. Doubt I will be buying anytime soon though, makes me want to play M-tron pro all the time..

I have the eq's on demo but haven't checked them out, I hope they're rubbish as I already have enough EQ, I don't want to want to buy more. Will be interesting to see how it compares to Trident, would be shocked if I like it more.

OMG - I just said to myself today that I was "done for the year" for plug ins. I did say that a few small hours ago .....

WTF ? @ 50% off these are a total no-brainer. I loved the demo of the Limiter.

That's what I get for surfing on GS
