Anyone tried this SSD with their mobile setup

Buffalo Technology - Products - MicroStation Portable Silicon Disk (SSD) with TurboUSB

Does anyone know if this can be used for recording 6-8 tracks [24 bit 44,1]?

Well - since none has replied on this in the "music computers" forum I'll try to move it to "remote recording".

1 Track, 60 seconds = 7.5MB
1 Track, 1 second = 128KB

6 Tracks, 1 second = 768KB

As long as this SSD has a write-transfer higher than that it'll work...

Thanks very much - is that really all..!

They claim to have a write speed of up to 30-35 MB pr. sec, but in a test I read, it said that if you realy "provoked" the SSD [writing very large files], write speeds could go as low as 10 MB pr. sec.
So it sounds as if it's capable... to do what I need [and a little more]

Best

Its not quite that simple. There are other factors involved like the OS and the computer's hardware, but that is a good rule of thumb.
