Thread Starter | firewire 400 and SP2
Just spent all day trying to fix some curious glitches when using MOTU 828mkii firewire interfaces on my new win XP SP2 machine. When I was using one interface it worked fine - as soon as I plugged in the second interface they started losing lock. Tried various methods of clocking, bigben/external/internal/adat etc etc but couldn't get them stable. Tried a different firewire card..tried putting each interface on a different firewire card. No good. after much messing around i thought i would try rolling back the firewire drivers as mentioned on... http://www.rme-audio.com/english/techinfo/fw800sp2.htm worked straight away (phew) - so it looks like the problem affects fw400 as well as fw800. I wouldn't have noticed the problem if I hadn't connected 2 devices (?) ...just in case this helps anyone - si |
