Thread Starter | recording analog with 25 pin? BSWusa.com offers a cable which is a 25 pin (i believe SCSI) output with with 8 TRS 1/4" inputs. I am wondering if I can run 8 tape outs from my mixer to this cable and get multi track recording through this SCSI cable? I am very very new to this, so anything will help. I am using sonor 4 producer on a 2.4 pentium 4. The mixer I have is the Sountracs Topaz Project 8, i know this is a lot of mixer but i got a good deal on it. or, is there a better way or a more common way to set this analog mixer up for multi-track recording into my PC? any help would be much appreciated. thank you |

| hi eatyourlungs, you ask: "...a 25 pin (i believe SCSI) output with with 8 TRS 1/4" inputs. I am wondering if I can run 8 tape outs from my mixer to this cable and get multi track recording through this SCSI cable?" Short answer: NO. If it's for analog audio signals, what you are probably referring to is an eight conductor snake with TRS male connectors on one end and a 25-pin (DB25) audio connector (also male) on the other end. You need to have equipment which uses a 25-pin (DB25) female connector. Fpr example, RME's ADI-8 converters have both analog DB25 in and analog DB25 out; the True Precision 8 mike pre has analog DB25 out. The cable works in either direction. The manufacturer of the audio equipment determines whether the female DB25 and female TRS jacks will send or receive. SCSI is not used to pass analogue signals, and its current use in passing digital signals is limited to transferring data across the computer's buss (PCI, Zorro II, NuBus, etc).
