What always fascinated me about Nebula was the guys who ran. At one point the whole circus became like a cult.

If you said anything (on any board) negative or mentioned the word "convolution" then within minutes a Nebula developer appeared to rebuff your post. It was like they had an account at the CIA and certain key words used on the internet triggered their "bat phone"

Nebula had a real beef with UAD plugins (and VCC) and at one point I felt some of the UAD guys were indulging in a bit of Nebula bating, I found it quite amusing to watch.

I did actually check out a demo and thought it was really good, but my humble Q9550 struggled to make the most of the concept.

Is it still an ongoing project?

yes that would be really cool. Alex B work is exemplary and Pre Amp Colour Suite is a brilliant pack of almost any high end Pre you can think of.

Never had a issue with nebular TBH ,installed it and use it everyday .sure there is a learning curve involved.. but after you overcome that it's plain sailing as far a I'm concerned , the EQ's are indispensable now , My only gripe would be to see the 64 -bit AU sooner rather than later

Actually, Nebula's factory library is not very good, don't waste your bandwidth downloading it. Third party libraries, however, (Such as AlexB, CDSM, AnalogInTheBox, Signaltonoize etc.) are what you want; they REALLY kick ass.
enjoy your purchase

Hey thanks monad,

Will try those third party libraries. Do you know if I can run those without authorization or will be locked too?

Once you authorise Nebula, you will be able to run all the purchased libraries with no problem.

Btw, check your spam folder for the authorisation email, maybe it already arrived but went there by mistake. If you don't receive it soon, just contact Giancarlo directly and he'll help you out, a really nice guy.

Most, like the AlexB, are reasonably priced, and worth the cost.
There is a link on the Acustica (Nebula) site to all the 3rd party developers.

Might want to read through this:

Nebula must have

I've forgotten if it was referenced elsewhere in this thread.

was hoping this would happen a bit sooner myself. i don't get why more devs aren't adopting the acqua format. they could reach a lot more users who shy away from nebula's steep learning curve and undesirable UI (like me).

The Aqua-format is not that much different
from the Nebula plugin; just a customized GUI,
and the amount of instances remain
the same. And you can tweak the engine
of the Nebula plugin itself, which can be
more desirable for some.
However, if devs could implement more instances/combo
programs in a single interface, would save much
time, instead of flipping through different instances.
That would be at the expense of cpu and ram, though,
but great for mixing.
