Recording creates wobbly effect....Sound forge or soundcard?

Im trying to record stuff from vinyl in to sound forge. Doen this many times before without problems using the same motu 828mk11 sound card. On playback I the audio has a wobbly effect on it, a bit like a badly warped track in Ableton Live. Sound forge could be acidizing the audio?

If I import audio rather than records playback is fine so Im assuming this is something to do with recording

Anyone experienced something like this with either a Motu 8282mk11 or using sound forge?

chris.....
simply - look at your turntable alignment that your playing the vynal on.
this is typical turntable behaviour.
outside of the pc - listen to the ttable thru a home hi fi.
for wobbling.

Thanks for your reply manning . Afraid its not the turntable (technics sl1200). Its been a real head scratcher this one...

If I record in any other software (Ableton Live, Cubase SX) the recording doesnt have the wobbly effect. if I record in to sound forge the auido does. However, if I use input 7+8 on the motu the recordings are as they should be in all my recording software...Weird..

Still have no idea what the problem is but at least for the moment I can record stuff from vinyl.

chris....got me scratching (my turntable !) as well...
if the audio coming into the pc is rock solid from the turntable,
only thing i can think of is some sort of driver incompatibilty in some software.
once i was trying to sort out a prob like this.
turned out my dog was jumping around and so the turntable etc..
but i really dont know.
its a weird one allright !
