Sync i/o with Pro Tools HD

Hey, I am new to pro tools HD. Runnin a 96 i/o, midi i/o, and Sync i/o. I have the Sync hooked up to the second input in my HD pcie card. When I open a PT session, it always says Sync is not locked. It says to check wires or change referance position, which I've done, but when I open session, it always goes back to loop sync on the referance position. Do I not have it hooked up right? What am I doing wrong here guys?

Talking

take a look in the manual . in the meantime ...

it should be attached to the core card and host serial on the sync i/o .. not any other cards ..

Hello,

It sounds like you need to assign the Sync I/O as master clock. This is a session dependent setting not a global one.
Hold down the "Apple" key and press "2" on the keypad.
This brings up the session settings for sync and clock. Change the clock to "Sync I/O".
Then save the session. It will open from then on with the Sync I/O as master.
You should be good.

Hey, thats why I love this site, answers in a day! Thanks man, that fixed it. Hate to be info greedy, but can you further assist me in the setup of this thing..Should I have the midi in on my MPC 4000 coming from the Sync, or keep it coming from my Midi i/o? (currently don't have work clock i/o's on my MPC, should I get the upgrade?) Also, even after locked, why do the numbers on my Sync i/o stay on zero? Sorry, but digi hotline too expensive, and you guys have always solved my problems for free
