Thread Starter | Pro Tools 7.4.2 & Reason Rewire ?!
So... I upgraded to leopard this week. Running Mac Pro 10.5.4, Pro Tools HD 7.4.2 cs1. I cant get the reason plug to show up. DigiRewire is in the plugin directory, should i be looking for something else? Searched the forum , and google, no luck. I found a few people having the same issue as me on other sites but no definitive answer/solution. Please tell me its supported.. if not.. any news on how long? :( Thanks, BR |

Have you tried reinstalling the latest version of Reason? I think the upgrade may break rewire.

It definitely needs to be Reason 3.5 or 4.01 to work in 10.5.

I dont think thats the problem. I'm running 3.0.5 , as i know the most current version of 3x. Tried installing off the disk, doesnt work either.Maybe ill use this as an excuse to upgrade to 4 and see if that helps. Anybody got any other ideas? Anybody using both successfully? wonder if i should post this in another forum.

it's a rewire conflict, I'm almost certain of that. Personally, I'd update to Reason 4 anyway - makes sense to be running the most up to date stable version. Try maybe installing Reason AFTER PT - or if that's what you did the first time, the other way round. One of them will have the more up to date version of Rewire that should sort it out. Make sure you're running the most up to date CS revision of PT too. It may be that Reason 3 works under leopard, but not in conjunction with PT and rewire.

Hey, Im having sort of similar problem but more demented! Pro tools 7.3 wont run properly on my Imac(OSx 10.4.11). It wont playback and usually says increase CPU usage limit or increase buffer size in playback engine. I usually have the CPU usage up at around 70 - 80% and have even tried it at 90% but to no avail! I also have the buffer size at the the default or above but no change. This only gets worse when I attempt to use reason in rewire as a plug in(for which no output comes through to pro tools) to the point where it has become a laughing stock!! All of this with no other programs open or running and an external hard drive to free up some memory. Is my mac screwed? Is it a RAM problem or is pro tools messed up?? Cant figure it out, any help would be much appreciated, thanks! |

The spec on my mac is Processor Name: Intel Core Duo Processor Speed: 2 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 L2 Cache (per processor): 2 MB Memory: 512 MB Bus Speed: 667 MHz Also, my hard drive has a capacity of 230GB and I have around 105GB free. What is taking up all this space? The only remotely big program on my mac is itunes but that only takes up around 40-50GB. Is it the Operating system thats taking up the space? Regarding the size of the pro tools sessions, they are small 3/4 instruments and only reason as a plug in. Still cant figure out why pro tools wont run properly?Pro tools hardly even runs without reason as a plug in. But reason seems to run ok when used without pro tools in audio card mode! Could it be a RAM issue or is there another problem? HELP!!!!
