Unhappy Ocean Way Drums Question

Hi, I'm new to the site, but I've been reading about the OWD info on here.. it's helped me a lot!

I have the Gold version of OWD, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there is a way to have natural "bleed" on the tracks. Currently my snare, hi hat, and toms are just putting through their individual hits. I would like to have some of the sound bleed through, similar to the overheads, but on each track to give it that more natural sound.

Does anyone know a way to do this, or at least make it better then just having the individual hits on each track (similar to a gate). Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

create a stereo auxillery track
make a reverb with a relatively short reverb time
feed a little of everything to it

cheers,
scott

Well, you have 3 rooms to play with as well as duration/release so you could bring that up quietly as one way. Another is to play with the snare bottom mics will do bleed from kick and toms (sympathetic rattling - but only when you select THOSE versions called "Snare On").

We left out what the tom mics pick up when you hit the snare and things like that so it is a more pure wanted sound, at least for this product which went the way Sides and Miller wanted it. Bullet proof and ideal fidelity. You can always add in some "stuff" (also the previous suggestion as an example) but the sound of OWD is meant to be crisp and punchy.

If you like the sound of bleed through on all mics we do have some new stuff from Sonic Reality that has that along with multi-track audio grooves as well (that lock to tempo but you can still mix the mics and punch in grooves from the kit with midi). In fact, we're releasing a new plug-in next month that has this.
