The Trumpet from Samplemodeling

Hi,
i just posted a little clip that i made using The Trumpet virtual instrument in Logic.
YouTube - The Trumpet
You can see the pianobar, the breathcontrol curve and the score all in sync.
I totally dig this plugin.
Let me know what you think about it!

I'd love to hear a dryer sound. Is that possible?

hi,
there are a couple of more examples at the samplemodeling website.
Sample Modelled Instruments - Demos

the actual instrument has been sampled bonedry in an anechoic chamber.
The trumpet needs a bit of good reverb to make it sound real.
but i rather have it that way than the other.

Took a listen to the other stuff. I actually like it. I don't have too many brass samples around, so I'm not the greatest of judges on this one but it sounds better than any I have. I'd always bring in players for jobs on good budget and there's no way this product will change that but for the demo stage, this will be wonderful for getting the feeling of the final product across to the clients.
I like it!
For just over 200 bucks I'm very tempted to order it.

Nice job ! Nice piece of yours and nice playing and programming. Can you say anything about how it works ? It's not clear on the website if it's just samples of if there's some modeling also. Are there keyswitches for different articulations? Did you play on a keyboard and do the breath controler stuff after? Does it require a lot of tweaking? etc......

Thanks man,
very much appreciated!
I played the parts with the right hand and used the BC-3 breathcontroller thru a MIDISOLUTIONS Breathcontrol converter simultaneously.
Then i used the stepeditor to place the keyswitches.
The trumpet uses bonedry samples that were recorded in an anechoic chamber.
The keyswitches trigger little midiscripts that bend and shape the notes.
The MIDI data was derived from analysing recordings of solophrases.
Things like mutes and harmons are realized by impulseresponses.
Its really a very unique approach. A bit of best of both worlds.
Samples for real attacks and tone and modeling to get all the articulations and vibratos etc.
Tweaking for that piece took maybe an hour or so to get it to the final state that you heard.
More time was wasted trying to play the right notes at the right time......

Thank you very much Tommasini-san!
I am honored to get such a comment from the creator of this wonderful instrument.
You really raised the bar of what one can expect froma virtual instrument.
Its a real joy to use!

Looking forward to whatever you will come up with next!

The BC-3 and the Midisolutions converter were a very good investment.
I use it for a lot of things like the Wallander WIVI and the Chris Hein Horns too.
It is by far the most natural way to control anything brass or wind.
Helps to create phrases of realistic length naturally too!

I just watched the video on the site and it's amazing. I'm suprised to not have heard of this before and can't wait for more instruments.
