Thread Starter | Separate internal audio drive in Mac Pro? Hi guys, just got onto a new Mac Pro (held out for 3 months but thought better of waiting for Nehalem)... Anywayz wondering if using a separate internal SATA drive for audio rec/play is a good idea. Lookin at the specs it obviously makes sense but always better to check in... |

| The first thing I did when I got my macpro was putting another drive on it. As others pointed out, one is for programs, while the other is just for audio files. The next thing I'll do is buying another one to put all my samples on it |

| The good thing about the MacPro is all those extra drive bays... one for OS and apps, one for samples, one (10K) for audio, one for (fill in the blanks). All the externals can be used for backups... |

| After getting burned by a Seagate drive, I switched my internal media drive to a Hitachi/IBM. Good specs all around. Samsung doesn't really have a track record (yet) compared to the other two (Seagate and Hitachi) so I haven't tried them out yet. |
