stylus rmx install on intel mac?

hi, im having trouble installing stylus rmx on my new intelcore2duo macbook.

ive managed to install the first part, installer thing....but theres 2 more big data folders , the ones with all the sounds in them. they have installers, but when i click them, nothing happens, just get a text kinda weird message.

might be something to do with universal binary..?

i bought the VST second hand from a local seller.
everthing seems to be there, but cant seem to install it.

and even after the littel first installer, stylus rmx DOES show up in logic pro, but its just empty of sounds. ive tried locating the sounds, but i think they need to be properly installed with the installer.

so im stuck.
the text file with it says it will install on an intel mac, v1.6.

any idea anyone? would be most helpful.

thankyou

Its been awhile since ive installed Stylus but from what i remember you dont click on the data folders to installed them , you simply Drag the data folder to the desired location.

where would i drag to?

The installer installs a really big file at the end of the installation process and lots of people think the installer has frozen. Reinstall it, just be patient and wait an hour or so without clicking anything or pushing any keys. Unless your disk is corrupt , you should be able to install it. If the data is corrupt you can't copy it anyway.

ok....but my first installer said "installation complete...finished"
after a coupla minutes. ,,,,...and you just click ok.

ill try it again.........
theres a ppc install file
and also a intel mac install file.
i just installed the intel mac file.....

so the other poster who said to drag and drop is wrong?

the only way to install the drum data is to properly install it with the included installer?

thanks.

CMD+Shift+3 or CMD+Shift+4 - whichever suits your needs (one snapshots the entire screen, the other one lets you select which area to shoot).

Well that looks as if you gotta a corrupt installer in your DVD?
Very different from mine... The date and the file name is the same but the file size is a lot smaller and it has no icon, I guess that installer is probably somehow corrupt. Yeah I also encourage you to contact Spectrasonic...

I just recently installed stylus rmx on my macpro2.8ghz with no problems.I did e-mail Spectrasonics to make sure i was doing things right.I would e-mail them and let them know whats happening.I noticed it took a while for the large files to load and during that time it seemed like nothing was happening with the cpu,but sure enuff it was all there.Spec. may be able to get you up and running. You could also try calling them but i was more successful with the e-mail.Good Luck!

i can only run it for 4 days in demo mode.

You are going to need that serial no.Go back to the guy you bought it from if you can and get it from him otherwise Spectrasonics frowns upon users who try and do the go around. In this case you get what you payed for by not looking into the particulars.I never do that so i can go back to these companies to get up and running again. It took me day and a half to bounce over to my new system because of various things that need to be done ie,Challenge and responses from those companies that require that and of course all of the ilok stuff. But now i'm making music instead of dickin around with this computer shite that will bog you down and piss you off.Sorry you're having to go thru that, but good luck in getting it solved.

Hey yo, the Stylus RMX Library named SAGE, that all. You can save this folder to anywhere in your computer. After that, create a new shortcut of SAGE and Drag it to the "Spectrasonic" folder. The shortcut must be named SAGE too. It's done man Hope it work with you.

Hi Jamie, I'm having the exact same problem, could you please tell me how to convert the "Stylus RMX Disc 2 Installer" from the unix executable file to the Mac OSX app file? Thank you very much!

Actual Install Instructions (Aii)

STYLUS RMX WINDOWS DVD INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

[but technically, the install for Macbooks isn't that much different]

Stylus RMX Disc 1 - Creating The Spectrasonics Directory

Please insert Stylus RMX Disc 1 into your computer’s DVD drive.

Open Windows Explorer (Windows Key + E). Locate and select the drive letter of your DVD drive. There are three folders, Mac OSX, SAGE, and Windows Stylus RMX Disc 1.

Double click the Windows folder.

Select and double click the Stylus RMX Disc 1 Installer icon.

Once the Stylus RMX Setup “splash” screen appears, select the Next button.

Select and click Next on the Welcome screen.

Select and click Next on the Important Notes screen. (Please read this carefully)

Select and click Yes if you agree with the Software License Agreement. No, if you do not agree. (Please read this carefully, as this contains many important FAQ’s regarding legal ownership and usage concerning Stylus RMX)

Select Next on the Ready To Install screen.
(This creates the necessary path for Stylus RMX’s large sound files,
C:\Program Files\Spectrasonics)

Installing The Plugin

Within the Choose Directory dialogue, choose the Path to locate your host’s Vstplugins folder for installing the Stylus RMX.dll. Double click through the Directories until you have located the desired Vstpugins folder. Select OK.

The example shown in the WatchMe.mov is for Cubase SX2, e.g., C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins. Please consult your host’s documentation regarding it’s Vstplugins path.

The next screen will assert that you have
Finished – Stylus RMX plug-in installed! Select and click Close.

Manually Copying The Large Sound Files

Locate the SAGE folder on Stylus RMX Disc 1

Drag to copy the SAGE folder into C:\Program Files\Spectrasonics

Once copying is complete, remove Stylus RMX Disc 1 and insert Disc 2.

Copy the Kit Modules.db and RMX Grooves.db files on
Stylus RMX Disc 2, located in SAGE\Stylus RMX\Core Library folder to your hard drive:

C:\Program Files\Spectrasonics\ SAGE\Stylus RMX\Core Library

Please refer to the WatchMe.avi file on the Stylus RMX Disc 1, located in the Windows folder for further instructions.

Stylus RMX DVD Installer – Windows/Using Shortcuts

The large RMX sound files may be stored easily to a secondary or external hard drive.

Drag the SAGE folder on Stylus RMX Disc 1 to the hard drive location of your choice. Then drag the Kit Modules.db and RMX Grooves.db files on Stylus RMX Disc 2, located in the DVD installer’s SAGE\Stylus RMX\Core Library folder to your hard drive’s location which contains the SAGE folder.

Then simply create a Shortcut To SAGE, and copy the shortcut to C:\Program Files\Spectrasonics. Make certain to remove the “Shortcut To” from the name, leaving the shortcut named as SAGE!

Playing Quicktime Movies

Stylus RMX WatchMe.mov and other tutorial movies requires the latest QuickTime free player, which can be downloaded here:

Apple - QuickTime - Download

just slow down there, kiddo....if you have dodgy gear, you'll need
a solution for the activation, so ask someone in jail for a key generator-
my verdict stands neutral on this one, i'm not biased.
