Audio dropouts, weird stuff with Cubase (LE) - Please Help

Lately I have been having really odd stuff happening with Cubase LE on Windows. I haven't had anything yet with Mac, but I haven't been mixing with the mac, just tracking into it (powerbook vs. desktop sony, i travel around to gigs often).

Anyway, weird stuff like a guitar lead in slide will not play back until I mess around with solo, unsolo, and change levels, etc. and then it will come back, but everything else in the same exact track/take will play back fine after that.

Also, when I solo something for a second and then unsolo, i randomly lose 1/3 of my track playback, like I will solo a guitar and then lose another guitar and the kick, etc.

What in the world is causing this stuff? I takes me forever to get it right to actually be able to listen. Then it seems like if I make a change that it doesn't like, I will lose tracks.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

I've experienced a similar situation with SX actually. The problem actually was with the audiointerface (how odd it might seem). What interface are you using?

I am using a Presonus Firepod.

I guess it is a possibility, but I just didn't think that stuff could have to do with the interface when I only run the main stereo outs, as I am mixing in the box.

So, I am pretty sure it is something in Cubase, and it is really bizarre.
