MOTU2408mk3 coresystem plz hlp!

I know this may sound silly to some of you but I just want to know this before I go out and buy it.

Can I send audio from my sequencer(sx3) to the motu 2408mk 3 unit and route it back to audio inputs
in cubase so I can record stuff straight onto audio tracks with just the 2408 unit and the
pci 424 card without having to buy anything else?.Is this system capable of doing
this?.Thats one of the main things id be using it for.I run a mac g5 if thats any help.

Being doing this with Logic for years no problem with same kit

you can do exactly that, but unless you are doing something to the audio while you are out of the computer there is little point as you can just bounce internally.
