Will PCMCIA MIDI latency be better than USB?

I'm currently suffering greatly from the terrible MIDI latency that comes with using a USB MIDI interface. As I solely use a laptop these days, I can't use a PCI card for MIDI.

So I'm wondering if getting a PCMCIA MIDI interface (possibly an RME card, actually) will solve my latency issues?
