I'm looking to buy some adat optical cables and I'm looking for a good price. A local place in Santa Cruz had them for $8 on the shelf, but I can't find a price close to that online. I now live in Seattle, so Santa Cruz isn't an option. Anyone? I'm also looking for a good cable source for analog cables as well, though I'm starting to think I should just by bulk wire and connectors and I'm sure there's already a lot of threads concerning sources for those. Cheers, Dan |

| Cable AND advice.
All, I am coming to the end of a massive wiring project where I put in 7 (seven) 96 point TT patchbays using nothing but Mogami wire. Yes, I even used Mogami for all "fixed" line level installations rather than Gotham, Redco, Gepco, Belden or Canare "console" cable. Why? Because one day the entire studio will be moved to a larger facility and this way I can pick up and move it without concern of the cable shields breaking down. Since I used nothing but Mogami I wanted more than price, I wanted service and advice. I've used Redco, they are VERY good. But then I discovered West Coast Studio Service, link is: RECORDING STUDIO WIRING, PATCHBAYS, AND DESIGN. With every order I got gobs of advice from the owner, Scott Hasson. He has a fantastic website with detailed views of some of his installation work. So he is not only a dealer, he is also a very experienced installer. Check out: HOME RECORDING STUDIO DESIGN, PROJECT STUDIO DESIGN and keep clicking on the pictures as they magnify to the point where you can examine details. Very useful! OK, full disclosure, I'm old. So while I have lots of experience wiring studios back in the days of 24 track machines and 100% analog, only a fool would say they know it all. Scott's advice and pictures were worth a fortune to me. He is also heck of a nice guy! Happy soldering. Curt (Dry Bones) |
