Trouble keep track sin sync.... save the session!

Nuendo 2
MAc OS X 10.4.2
Powerbook G4 1.67
FireFAce 800
Digimax LT connected through ADAT connector

This setup has been rock solid for over a year so far. Though tonite things went bad.

The session consisted of 2 pre-recorded guide tracks for the drummer to play to. 12 channels of drums were being recorded to the session through the FF800 and Digimax LT. Things were going smoothly. 2 hours in to the session it got ugly.

Every take would do the same thing. record for a minute properly, then after a minute or so the recorded tracks somehow lose sync. They get all jumbled up. The first 60-90 seconds are fine but at BAR 39 it seems that random tracks get out of sync. Take afetr take @ BAR39-40-41 the tracks fall out of sync.

At first I though it was the DIGIMAX tracks that were out of sync. I wondered if the clock or ADAT connection was weak or something. We noticed that at any given time it could be any track that went out of sync.

I'm at a loss, I tried

reinstalling the FF800 drivers
reconfiguring the setup
Plugging W/C connections (couldn't get W/C to sync)
lightening my drive (making room on the drive)
different firwire ports
de-frag
restarting
Reducing the # of inputs
etc.

Any help would be quite awesome..... I'd really like to resume the session tommorow and not look like a total idiot for 2 hours......

Thanks Gang.

well, I did manage to get my hands on an ART SYNC GEN today.... I know its not very SLUTZ-ZY, but its all I could find locally. Now, it did help... a little. Rather than the tracks losing sync 19 out of 20 takes. It went dropped to 3 out of 10 takes. Which is still awful and unacceptable. Especially considering that Its been rock solid for over a year!

Any ideas would be welcome.
