One of my clients wants me to transfer a couple of his old songs from a cassette to a cd on our off time..what would be the best plugs to use to try and Restore the songs. He said that they are masterd pretty well, but just in case, I want to be prepared!

The main things I use when restoring cassettes would be some noise reduction (I use adobe audition for this, but a plugin like Isotope RX would be very suitable for this), transparent limiting (using your favourite plugin limiter) and possibly some EQ if needed, for cutting where required.

There are various enhancement plugins around (the UAD enhancer and the Fielding reviver are two names that come to mind) to add back any lost sparkle but I have no personal experience with these.

Sound soap should be fine. thumbsup The biggest problem, possibly, will be hiss, but sound soap can do much more. Of, course, when remowing hiss, don't over do it, because there's nothing worst than those 'flangy' sounding cleaned tracks.
