Mic and Pre Amp low budget "Need your advice"

Ok i don't have but 200 bucks. I know i know, i'm poor man trying to live the rich mans dream right... So anyways i just want a good Mic and Pre Amp i don't know much about Mics and Pre Amps but i'm willing to learn. So right now i'm looking at Guitar Center,

Shure SM 58 Mic $99.99
Shure SM58 Mic and more Dynamic at GuitarCenter.com.

M-Audio Buddy $50.96
M-Audio Audio Buddy and more Mic Pre-Amps at GuitarCenter.com.

Now i seen some other mics and pre amps for about the same price but i don't know what the best buy is for $200 bucks i might be able to push $250 but like i said i'm just a poor man trying to live the rich mans dream. If Shure SM 58 or 57 don't use a pre amp then what do i get to connect to my computer? How would i go about doing this?

So if you guys can goto guitarcenter's web page and look around and tell me what the best Pre Amp and Mic setup for $200 to $250 i would be greatful.

My style is Rock, Metal, Alt, Accoutic. I'm a newbie at this stuff so if you could help that would be great.

That highly depends on what you want to do with your mic and pre:
- Live or Studio or Both?
- Sing, mike a guitar amp, or both, or other?
- What do you want to plug your preamp into? A computer (if yes, please tell us which soundcard you have)? A mixing console? Or Both?

I have a SM 58 which is decent for live vocals and okay for studio vocals if you don't need too much detail.
For pretty much everything else (speaking studio here), I use condenser mics.

Good luck! Thomas
