powerbooks and dvd playback.

Hey everyone. I had a quick question about my powerbook. it's a G4 15" 1gig ram, 1 gig G4. I'm not sure if it's just happened recently or not, but lately when i'm watching DVD's, i'll hear audio clicks and pops while a DVD is playing. It almost sounds like a bad pro tools punch. I tried just using the mac unplugged as I thought maybe the power adapter was giving it some strange power causing it to make pops and clicks, but alas, it still did the same thing. CD's seem to play fine without any trouble, and burning CD's is also not a problem. Any tips?

*bump*

anyone? its just that it's still happening and is bugging me. Randomly while watching a DVD the audio will just have a pop or click. Any settings im neglecting to switch? Could there have been anything i did for better Pro Tools performance that could be making this happen? any and all help will be greatly appreciated. it's making me a bit nutty over here.

edit: after a bit more searching, on older macs i think apple suggested turning off the 'soundtracks' in the appearance pref. window, and restarting the machine, apparently it worked, one other dude gave more memory to the DVD player program, and that solved it. Can anyone guide me in the right direction on how to give more memory in perticular to the DVD player program while it is running?
