Pro Tools: Maximum # of plugins per track?

It shows 5 slots per track/aux/master for plug-ins. Is this all there is? What do you do if you want more than 5 plug-ins on a track?

Bus the track to an Aux Track and get 5 more.. but do you really need more than 5 plug-ins inserted directly across a track?

You can always audiosuite in series, as you would load the inserts on the mixer.

i suggest making use of the audiosuite plugins. Say you have 5 plugins going but you want to add a sixth. Save the setting for whatever plugin you are pretty sure you don't need to adjust again. Make a duplicate playlist and name it after the plugin (ex. vox eq print) highlight the entire track and pull up the same plugin in audio suite. Load the setting you saved and process the track. You can now disable the plugin or replace it with something else. The setting will always be saved unless bad labeling causes you to forget it. hope this helps.

I make use of playlists and audiosuiting entire tracks. It's a great way to incorporate a "poor man's freeze" function. For me, 90% of the time it's just 2-3 plugins at most per track, but on, say, a vocal track there is often 5 plugins at once. Now with this new plugin, if it works like I hope it will, that instantly puts me down to four slots across the board, which I can live with, but it's not ideal. I was just wondering about this seeing as how in Logic, the more plugins you add, the more slots open up. That's a nice feature, and I was just surprised that Pro Tools still has this 5 slot limit.
