Question Win MediaPlayer, sound quality, other options?

alrighty,

so i've come across some mention of Windows K32 mixer and the idea that i should avoid WMP for the sake of sound quality.

can anyone fill me in on what's going on with WMP and it's dithered / SRC'ed mixer and suggest a better sounding alternative?

winamp?

i just want to get the best sound quality possible when listening to my music library, for recreational purposes,

thanks,

Use Foobar 2000 with ASIO output. You will have to research a bit since it's very deep program with alot of options, but once you set it up the way you like, it's unbeatable.

All I know about Windows Media Player (on Vista 32bit) is that it's sound is slightly muffled, even with the EQ and all other enhancements turned off.
