Thread Starter | LOGIC ERROR - audio configuration is damaged
hopefully somebody can help me out here. last week i was starting to mix a song in Logic and suddenly got an error stating "audio configuration is damaged". the OK button says "Bad". i wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary when i first got the error. after getting the error i was only to use one insert per channel. if i tried to add another plugin on another insert, it would just replace whatever was there before and give me the error message again. i then saved the project, and restarted Logic. i open the session, and before it opened the session i got the error message again. fast fowrard a few days to hammond organ tracks day...i go to open the project to record some tracks and the project now will not open. once i click on the bad button, Logic tries to get me to save as. no matter what i do from there, whether i try to save it as something else or hit cancel, Logic quits unexpectedly. at this point i figure, oh well i hadn't really lost a mix or anything, i'll just recover the audio files and make a new session to fly them into. i go to the audio folder and i find only the basic tracks there. so i figure crap, i lost a bass overdub, an acoustic gtr, and vocal. no big deal i at least have the drums. i fly the drum tracks into the new project and they are tracks from a totally different song. those same files are also in the audio folder for the song that they belong to. any ideas what happened here? did logic just pick a random song and copy files to replace the song with the damaged session? is there a possibility that the correct files could have somehow been moved somewhere else? and no, the 2 song's folders didn't just get switched. has this happened to anyone else? the other 9 songs from this band are unharmed. any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks, Derek BTW...i'm running Logic Plat 6.3.3 on a Dual 867 G4 w/ OSX 10.2 |

huh shit happens ,if audio config is damaged or whutever ,you can try to start logic with ctrl key pressed (to disable its audio engine) and it will open ANY song no matter how many audio instr/plugins are used ,and then you can select all used audio regions in that song (in audio window) and copy them or backup or use "save regions as audio files - that thing can crash logic -nice " you can also disable audio driver manually in logic ,its same thing as starting logic with ctrl . good luck |
