Profire 2626 and Windows XP Boot Camp... help?

I just got a profire 2626 with the thought in mind that I would be able to use it in windows XP via boot camp on my 8-core mac pro. However, several people and M-audio have stated that it is not compatible with XP when using bootcamp.

The drivers install just fine, but after i restart I get a code 10, device cannot start error in the device manager. The profire is recognized though.

Is there any work around for this? I need this to work very badly. Any recommendations of things I could try?

just out of curiosity, why do you need it to work in XP?

Theres quite a few reasons. The more important:

-I use sonar 7 and there are some windows only vsts I need/use. Sonar 7 is actually my preferred DAW.

The less important:

-I play some games and my studio monitors are the only way for me have sound apart from using the internal speakers or headphones. Basically I have no sound in XP, which is a huge bummer.

Actually they are both really important. Either way, having a working interface in XP is essential, and I definitely need a way to use it in XP.

Considering everything you just stated..... Why the hell did you buy a G5?

Your software requires that you use a PC. Using bootcamp on a G5 is not the same as booting onto a PC with only Windoz installed. BC is nice for all of the simple-softs like Micro Word but isn't recommended for intensive tasks.

As far as horsepower (8-core) you could have built or bought a PC with the same specs and saved yourself a crap-load of headaches.

Considering that you're calling a Mac Pro a "G5" I will take your testimony as gospel in this matter.

What a peeder.... Come on... shinny grey box running OSx = Mac Pro, G5, computer, personal desktop, Apple, Mac, McJobs Big Mac, .....One has a Xeon the other has a Dual Core. So what....both run the same shiz.

Your splitting hairs Peeder for some trollish reasons. How about addressing the issue.

Do you support the concept of buying a Mac to run Sonar via bootcamp?

There is no more efficient way of declaring yourself an idiot than citing something posted on an online forum as "trollish."

I have a mac pro because a good deal of work I do is in Logic Pro 8 (everything midi related is done in Logic). Not to mention, I prefer to do all my webdesign / photoshop / flash work in OSX. I also do a lot of video stuff that i prefer to work in OSX for.

Either way, Joenovice, as your name clearly states, you don't seem to have much knowledge of the matter, so I'd prefer to keep this thread open to people trying to help me with the problem at hand, rather than critisize the purchases I made. I have my reasons, and they do not pertain the topic at hand.
