Synchronize! Pro X (free alternative?)

Anyone know of a free directory sychronization tool for intelligent file backup?

Someone told me about a program called Synchronize! Pro X, but the free version is limited to 10MB files / folders. I'll buy it if there isn't any freeware of this sort. Basically I want to back up Pro Tools sessions and have it only copy the files that have changed, rather than selecting 'Replace' so it copies everything over itself, even if the file hasn't changed since the last backup.

don't be so cheap...support good software...i believe you can buy synchronize! X for only like $30...you don't need the Pro version unless you want to do disk images of your main internal hardrive or something

I'm not cheap... though my phrasing made me sound so. The only reason I ask is because there are often freeware utilities out there and it's worth checking before spending money. I buy everything I use. I didn't notice Synchronize Plus on Qdea's site -- it's $35 and I'll probably buy it, although I just read some reviews that say it installs parasiteware that runs in the background, so I'm a little hesitant. From one review:

"Every time you run Synchronize! Pro , it installs parasiteware in the background of your Mac which is very difficult to turn off. The parasiteware doesn't do much except steal processor cycles (going up and down between 0 and 6% in my experience)."

I found this simple shareware util called File Synchronization... $15 for the same thing as Sync Pro X.

Apple - Downloads - System/Disk Utilities - File Synchronization

I've been using "iMsafe" for a couple of years already, for exactly that purpose - to back up Pro Tools and Logic sessions. Highly recommendend!

iMsafe

Check it out!

I have a 2TB Time Machine Drive all automated zero time spend doing back ups. No problems while running sessions. Hourly back ups, daily then weekly. Searchable back ups. Easy interface for restore

Does that do file synchronization? I always thought it was for making backup images, but I haven't looked at it in a while.

Does Synchronize Pro X work with FTP or SCP? (addressed to the general public)
