| Nuendo Mixdown Bass Response Problem Hi Fellow Slutz, A very interesting question i bring to you: My old laptop which had some old sessions in Nunedo 2, was turned on for the first time after a year or two. Well, I wanted to export mp3 mixdowns from the sessions but everytime i would do that it is like if i run it through a LPF...In the program it doesnt sound anything like the final mixdown version...I even tried putting some EQ to take some of that low end out before mixing down and it still does it... Are there any sound engine preferences that i do not know of? Is it maybe the problem because i am using the mbox 2 with the digidesign drivers for it.. Thanks, Dean ![]() |

| If it isn't the fact that you are mixing down to mp3, which will change the sound, it's probably the media player that you are playing it back with that is screwing you.

| This is pretty funny. I was about top make the same Post. I run Nuendo 2, FF800, Powerbook G4 1.67, API , UA....... Decent stuff. Yet the mixes through Nuendo seem a little cloudy. Very cloudy infact. I wouldn't say low passed, more so, veiled or lacking sparkle. I'm using mainly Waves, Liquid mix and some PSP, and of course Nuendo plugs. I too am at a loss. I find it odd that this is the case. Though I haven't tried a Real time bounce. I doubt it would matter. Maybe a post @ nuendo.com might help. |

| Donīt change the export parameters in mixdown. Export like it is in you project settings. Do the SRC, Dither and MP3 things later. |

| It's not the audio engine. MP3 compression sums the low-end to mono and otherwise messes it, so forget about how MP3's sound. If a .wav or .aiff mixdown from nuendo doesn't sound exactly like playback of the mix, you're doing it wrong. I've never used anything except realtime, so that could be it. Usually, if I'm not using an outboard comp or anything that forces me to go thru the extra d/a/d cycle anyway, I use a little plugin called tapeit on the master buss, which just records what goes by, and mixdown by using playback.
