| Gear maniac | 828 mkIII questions so i have multiple mkII's and they serve their purpose. not awesome but ok. about the onboard dsp processing. can it be controlled via digital performer ala PTHD? if so, will it save with pd projects? if anyone here works for motu, i am in boston and would like to demo an 828 mkIII running DP. let me know where i could do that. |

| Short answer... no. You can save the configuration (routing, effects, mixes, etc.) for the mkIII, but this doesn't happen automatically when saving the project. Also, the effects aren't directly accessible through your DAW. You would have to route the signal to an output that has the effects applied and then bring it back in on an input. This would probably be pretty easy if you looped the SPDIF connections (Just thought of that one, I think I need to try it myself! ). However, direct access would be great for any DAW (not just DP).

| I just found out that there are inputs available that will route the audio back into your DAW without using a cable. Simply route the signal out of any unused output. Enable the effects on that output channel that you want to use. On another track in your DAW select one of the reverb returns as the inputs and you are set. There are also two inputs to route mixes from CueMix back to your DAW, very handy. Sorry that I didn't know this earlier. I found out about it while messing with my M300 with the S/PDIF channels. Here is a screenshot of how my inputs appear in Logic 8 for reference. Notice the stereo Reverb return on 11/12 and the stereo mix Return on 13/14. ![]()
