WEIRD RME MULTIFACE II problem help!!

Hey Everyone!!
I have a RMe Multiface II with the Pci-E card (recently replaced by RME), on my q6600 running Cubase SX3...
Lately I am getting a intermittent "skip" in audio..even on windows media player..
I record files, and play them on another computer, no probs!..I go SPIDIF out to a Presonus Central Station..Its definately NOT a BUFFER thing (tried that) or a DISK thing....

ANY THOUGHTS???

HELP!!gruu dge

ps...

I ran the latency Checker...it goes from great latency to off the chart latency spikes every 20 -30 sec...tried disabling drivers , no effect...and it does it after it warms up and gets HOT after about 20 min....

maybe an IRQ conflict? I'm not sure how PCIe works with IRQ but if it's anything like PCI... go:

Start Menu - Run - then type "msinfo32" and hit enter - click "hardware resourses" - then click "conflicts/sharing".

Look in there for your RME card and see if there are any other devices sitting on the same IRQ.

Support,

Spoke to Chris as ADK, AND JEFF at the RME Distruibutor...

(BTW ADK SUPPORT always the best)....
TODAY , it went away TOTALLY!..BUT my studio was 15 degrees cooler!..

We had 2 95 degree days in NY and my studio Central air is WIMPY at best..

Jeff seems to feel it (latency spikes) were attributed to "Fan management" somehow....
Does anyone have any "settings" that would help this, when it gets Hot?
I have a rackmount case, with 2 zalmam fans in the rear, and a Zalman CPU cooler....

I thought I went overboard when it came to coooling!! Usually it runs bone cold!

((BTW NO IRQ Probs))

(I am sure Scott has the answer 4 this)...(scott buy Chris lunch..)

did you check if your Powersupply didnt blew up?

my PSU for the RME MFII failed (the green light was still on) and that is why my multiface freaked out..

maybe worth a try?

I run a mf1 without the supply, i need it only via cardbus. The mf2 as reported draws more power, there is a claim that the older pci cards fry if you run the mf2 without an external supply.

if you are on pci-e it shouldnt matter. I bought one from ebay for 10^$, very happy.

second opinion:
my multiface II tend to freak out from time to time (no proper clock and stuff) and I sent it in for repair. they replaced a chip (this is the only thing i know)...

so maybe it's time to send it in for repair.

cheers
