What happened to Carillon computers?

Does anyone know what happened to the company that makes the Carillon audio computers?

All of a sudden the company's websites don't work. They don't exist anymore. As if the company suddenly disappeared. They used to have a US website and a UK website, now nothing works. I searched but didn't find anything online. I also tried to e-mail them but noone responded.

Did the company went bankrupt or something? That would be a very sad scenario because I really like my Carillon computer and I was thinking of buying a new one.

I would appreciate any information.

Turnkey the music store in London was home to Carrilon computers. Turnkey was owned by SoundControl - and Soundcontrol went into administration a couple of months ago.

i wouldn't even think about buying a Carillon. Seriously overpriced for the specs, and quite noisy unless you spend serious money.

Check out ADK Pro Audio Digital Audio workstations

Same thing happened a few years ago with Aardvark Audio. One day there, the next done. The website was down, and no one answering phones. One, two year old, $700 interface down the drain.

Gaz
I agree with you.
I have been running a Carillon for many years and I have no regrets, silent as a mouse pretty much too. I would purchase another if necessary.

Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!

Build it yourself, save money and get a better system. If you can assemble a bicycle you can build a DAW. With the wealth of information on this board I can't see why anyone would pay so much more for so much less.

I can build computers just fine... but it took me all kinds of effort to figure out how to get tire off my bike...

I am bummed because I want to get service on mine (Carillon). It has worked flawlessly with Nuendo and my WK Audio ID.

But now the thing gives me an alert saying that it's getting too hot whenever I try to defrag the C-drive.

Any help you guys can provide would be wonderful!

Cheers

Spec it out and you can probably build it for $900.

No thanks I would rather have the customer service in case something goes wrong and the unit is tested.

You know a couple of year ago Carillon closed their US distributorship out of New Jersey. They are nowhere to be found in the UK as far as I can tell.

I will find someone with a support infrastrucure to build another turnkey system. I have seen that some have used ADK and PC Audiolabs. Mikey from Carillon went to work for Sweetwater last I heard. He was a good guy and very helpful to us.

Workstations from ADK, PC Audiolabs and XI-Machines are more than just the sum of their parts.

While I don't doubt some people here can build an affordable silent and reliable workstation, most people just don't realize what really makes a workstation, instead of just a "pc".

Oh, and comparing an ADK to a HP Workstation is comparing apples and pears, even with the same components.

After much research, I recently purchased a C*rillon AC1...expensive? Sure, but after problems with local-builds before I was after something well-built, customised, and reliable.
The AC1 had a RAM problem which eventually led to a return and new RAM; Carill*n were real quick with this and I'm currently really happy with the set up and feel reassured I made a good choice. Also, I have phone/email back-up and varying forms of guarantee.
When we were diagnosing the initial problem I needed to tahe a look inside and I can report that the cabling and components looked as neat and tidy as a well-regarded outboard unit. The case is solid and it's so quiet that I thought the fans weren't working.
E-mail communications (with C*rillon) can be erratic but I guess they're quite busy and when it's an important issue they have been on the ball.
