| Lives for gear | Yamaha Studio Connections Initiative- EVERYONE READ THIS
This is something that could seriously change studio life. Basically, the system is a protocol for putting a gui (which pops up as a plug-in in your host application) in front of the very arcane world of midi control of hardware. No more controller numbers to learn, no sifting through the back of the manual to figure out a number to get an idea down. Just use the gui. This is amazing. It is now available in Cubase SX and soon will be in Nuendo. I am very excited. Imagine having a remote for all of your outboard and instant recall of everything without the sysex hassles, all the benefits of computer with the quality of your outboard! And imagine what could happen with digital control of analog boxes like the Distressor. Combined with full latency compensation? Good stuff indeed. It is now part of Cubase SX 3, soon Nuendo 3, and Yamaha hardware supports it, but I think that the trees will have to be shaken a bit to get it to really take off. Slutz unite and take what is rightfully ours!!! Best, RD Here's a link with details: http://www.yamahacommercialaudio.co...dio_connection/ |
