monitors vs computer screen - solution?

I just replaced my passive Tannoys system 600's with some Yamaha HS80m's. I was thinking about keeping the Tannoys and seeing if they could still be useful in my scenario, but the only space I have is right next to my computer monitor. It didn't react well at all to having speakers right next to it. My question is - does anyone have any opinions/suggestions as to some cheap but useful speakers that won't interfere with the computer monitor when in close proximity?

This doesn't help you at all, but how do you like the HS80's, I'm thinking about getting a pair. Thanks

the flatscreens won't mind anything magnetic. (and are dirt cheap now)
I suggest change the computer screen, instead of the monitors.
ehm if you don't want to look at older broadcast monitors, mostly these are shielded.

I've only worked with them for 2 days. My impression is that they are, in general, a great monitor for the money. I spent a lot of time at GC and Sam Ash listening, and they seemed the best compromise. They do reproduce some low end, and the highs seem the most accurate and listenable at this price point. I was thinking about the Event asp8's, but when I listened to them I was absolutely appalled at what they did to the high end. My only complaint about the HS80m's so far - and it's a minor, learning curve sort of issue - is that there was some harshness in the top end of a couple of guitar tones that was not obvious to me until I checked in my car.

JBL Control 5. Cheap, clean and magnetically shielded.
