| Pops/Clicks w/ MBP - Duet - Logic? I've been using LP 8.0.1 (yes, I know about the update) and a Duet for a few months now. Recently, I've noticed bad performance with the Duet with audio and Midi. I've changed the buffer settings and tried all of the usual but now luck. I've tried tracking to internal, external drives but still pops and clicks and cpu spikes. When I first got this combination going, it was pretty much bullet proof... I tried the upgrad to 8.0.2 and got the new maestro software update and still poor performance |

I'm almost buying an Echo interface or something like that, because of the stability. Oh, and yes.. I'm on Logic 8.0.2 and I have the new Duet and Firewire Audio drivers. | |

| aaahh....it might be the Airport. I switched it off and so far the problems seem to go away except I do get interupts with not much going on (soft synths). I don't remember ever having a problem with Airport before this. I'll continue experimenting and report back... |

| still probelms I'm still having piss poor performance with Macbook Pro and Duet. I'll have maybe 3 or 4 soft synths going and I keep getting interrupts. Turning off Airport helps a little but not much. |

| How is your system hooked up? Have you traced where the clicks, pops are occurring {recorded on the track, or randomly on playback} What sample rate and what buffer size are you using? I would hope the Duet is plugged right into the FW 400 port on your computer....without anything else on that buss. Have you also checked your Hard drive, as when a HD gets full, you can get plenty on error's that can do what you have describe. I would use an external FW 800 next to the FW 400 port.

| I have been using my system drive which is quite full. I would assume that's a problem with audio tracking but what about midi? The Duet is routed through FW400 directly. I track at a H/W buffer setting of 256. I'll try the external drive first. |
