Best type of monitor for noise reduction?

Hi All,

I have a big Dell CRT display that makes my system buzz when it's on. Do the flat panel displays reduce this problem?

Thanks,
Tom

any flat screen should eliminate most of the buzz. But when does it buzz?
My cable box causes problems for me I just shut it off. Anything with a motor
can cause you grief. A poorly design guitar pickup can cause problems
the list goes on.....

It's the display in my home studio. When I'm recording guitar near the monitor is when it's most noticeable.

Yeah, CRT's throw out a lot of EMF, as a rule. Some are better shielded than others.

LCD flat panels don't seem to be implicated in any noise issues that I'm aware of.

Get yourself a nice LCD, the technology is much different than your CRT, they generate less heat and use less power too...and best of all your noise issues will go away. Best part is...they're cheap these days!
