Patchmix feedback loop w' otb reverb

Hi,
I just got a Behringer V verb (still works! and sounds great) and connected it to my EMU 1820m via optical SPDIF. Main mix is going out the dock's optical SPDIF and into the optical input of the v verb. Signal leaving v verb going into PCI spdif (opt) on EMU card.

Now, I am not quite sure how to set up the patchmix for this, but I can't quite seem to wrap my head around how to stop the feedback loop. If I select a certain preset, it will start to ring and feedback. Is there a way to capture the incoming wet signal from the v verb and not have it go back into the main mix looping into feedback? I am using Samplitude v9, if that makes a diff.

I really want to use this reverb for tracking after printing, but I am not sure it is possible the way things are going. I prefer to route it digitally so as to avoid the Berhinger converters.

Any solutions?

Thanks,
Will
