Digidesign's Transfucer

Looks pretty fun. Probably will cost too much when it comes out, though.

I've heard of such tools.

Seems like I recall a product from the old Sonic Foundry (now owned by clueless giant, Sony) called... what was that? LSD? X? DMT? Ah, yes... ACID... Ten years old this year. (And, quite obviously, the direct source of inspiration for toolset, features, and even control layout for Apple's first version of Garage Band. Which, contrary to urban myth, is credited to the chief software design architect from Logic -- not the people at SF who designed ACID in the first place.)

Anyhow, obviously, good integration with PT will be a big plus for Transfuser.

I love the technology innovated by ACID and implemented in various fashions (often combined with the sample slicing tech from Recycle) by the other me-too loop environments from everyone from Apple to Cakewalk -- but I have to say that I, personally, have never really warmed up to that mode of production.

But ACID and the rest certainly revolutionized bed music for advertising.

Ha, this is very true. And Porno music!

I wouldn't be using Transfucer as a looper, or beat slicer, but more of a noise maker with samples.
