Thread Starter | Quantizing Drums with Identify Beat and Beat Detective.
ok ok.....So I have a few multi-track sessions of JUST drums that were NOT recorded to a click. I am quite familiar with Identify Beat and Beat detective but I am having trouble CONFORMING the audio properly to the tempo. I ofcourse found my tempo using Identify Beat on a couple of bars that I selected. Now my question is should i NOT quantize the whole song to ONE tempo?? Or do I need to go all the way through, bar by bar and set tempo markers using Identify Beat? If I were to do this, wouldn't that mess up the final product...having many different tempos? It's metal by the way...so if it sounds mechanic, then I WIN! THanks O h yeah, I forgot to add...I'm in 7.4 and i heard BD got an upgrade, anyone know about this? |

if it's not too far off, i'd do the whole thing to a single tempo, and beat detective to that tempo, i can't imagine the maximum tempo differences are more that a few BPM's

thanks for the reply. i guess i just need more practice with beat detective. it seems like the first bar or two i do, it works brilliantly...but then after that it's pretty much useless, sigh. thanks. |
