sample libraries - any suggestions (dance)?

Left to my own devices, I'm a sample n cut n paste guy, and that suits me fine. But when I'm programming for clients who need to hear a lot of options, that can easily be too time consuming. In particular, the problem is drums. Can anyone recommend any decent libraries which cover a nice spread of basics for dance/club music (real & synthetic drums kits appropriate for dance music, latin percussion--preferrably recorded on the dry side--kits or maybe clean perc. loops to chop)?

(For MachFive, or maybe a Reason ReFill.)

Peece,

Still use a lot of Peter Erskine Living Drums, for jazzy things mostly.

Now New York Percussionists come here, and I like it for filling the grooves. Bongos, kongas, shakers in not so "overused" loops.

There is a lot of usefull stuff in NI Battery Kits, acoustical/electronic.

I like Latin Groove Factory for something...

And there was a swiss site with free "hiphopdrums", useful hits... arghh, can't find the link...

And there is also the unfficial way, try DC++ sharing, there are people with whole sampleCDs, you don't have to steal those, but they time from time has compiled directories of "kick drums" "snares" etc.

Ttauri, come on, your a DJ, you must have thousands of records to sample individual sounds from

But I see the problem with that. Spend 100*2 bucks on these instead

Nu-Directions from e-lab. Great loops and kits.

Also, Dance Mega Drums #2, it´s in AKAI Format as well as Audio. Perhaps a bit dated but it works pretty well.

Yeah, that's my preference, and I think the way my approach has developed, it's what I can do my best work with; but I've been working with some DJs who don't have a musicianly background lately, and don't necessarily know what they want for a part until they hear it, and need to have a lot more options available to call up quickly (at least to get a rough draft together before hunting through the wax).

Thanks, guys. Nu Directions and Latin Groove Factory look very promising for my needs.

(Hey Jens, the latest mix experiment on Libre--"busy arrangements redux" in the mp3 section--sound any different/better to you?)

Or get yourself a copy of DFH Superior and a copy of BFD & BFD XL. That'll cover all your real drum sounds. Dance stuff? Just get yourself a selection of 808 & 909 sounds on CD Rom. I'm not sure which CDRoms have them, Distorted Reality does a good 808/909 Phycho kit (distorted) but I would think most roms will have a variation on 808/909
